Statistical analysis for windowed Fourier ridge algorithm in fringe pattern analysis.

چکیده
Based on the windowed Fourier transform, the windowed Fourier ridges (WFR) algorithm and the windowed Fourier filtering algorithm (WFF) have been developed and proven effective for fringe pattern analysis. The WFR algorithm is able to estimate local frequency and phase by assuming the phase distribution in a local area to be a quadratic polynomial. In this paper, a general and detailed statistical analysis is carried out for the WFR algorithm when an exponential phase field is disturbed by additive white Gaussian noise. Because of the bias introduced by the WFR algorithm for phase estimation, a phase compensation method is proposed for the WFR algorithm followed by statistical analysis. The mean squared errors are derived for both local frequency and phase estimates using a first-order perturbation technique. These mean square errors are compared with Cramer-Rao bounds, which shows that the WFR algorithm with phase compensation is a suboptimal estimator. The above theoretical analysis and comparison are verified by Monte Carlo simulations. Furthermore, the WFR algorithm is shown to be slightly better than the WFF algorithm for quadratic phase.

Windowed Fourier transform for fringe pattern analysis: addendum.
Novel approaches based on windowed Fourier transform for demodulation of fringe patterns were previously presented [Appl. Opt. 43, 2695-2702 (2004)], where extraction of phase and phase derivatives from either phase-shifted fringe patterns or a single-carrier fringe pattern was the main focus. I show that the same methods can be applied to process a single closed-fringe pattern in either noise ...
متن کاملGeneralized three-dimensional windowed Fourier transform for fringe analysis.
A 3D windowed Fourier transform is proposed for fringe sequence analysis, which processes the joint spatial and temporal information of the fringe sequence simultaneously. The 2D windowed Fourier transform in the spatial domain and the 1D windowed Fourier transform in the temporal domain are two special cases of the proposed method. The principles of windowed Fourier filtering and windowed Four...
متن کاملOne-shot absolute pattern for dense reconstruction using DeBruijn coding and Windowed Fourier Transform
Shape reconstruction using coded structured light (SL) is considered one of the most reliable techniques to recover object surfaces. Among SL techniques, the achievement of dense acquisition for moving scenarios constitutes an active field of research. A common solution is to project a single one-shot fringe pattern, extracting depth from the phase deviation of the imaged pattern. However, the ...
متن کاملRolling Bearing Fault Analysis by Interpolating Windowed DFT Algorithm
This paper focuses on the problem of accurate Fault Characteristic Frequency (FCF) estimation of rolling bearing. Teager-Kaiser Energy Operator (TKEO) demodulation has been applied widely to rolling bearing fault detection. FCF can be extracted from vibration signals, which is pre-treatment by TEKO demodulation method. However, because of strong noise background of fault vibration signal, it is...
متن کاملWavelet ridge track interpretation in terms of formants
This paper proposes two new approaches for formant tracking using Fourier and wavelet ridges. The speech signal is decomposed into Time-Frequency representations issued from windowed Fourier transform and wavelet transform. Formant tracking is achieved by exploring ridges from time-frequency representation and imposing continuity constraints on formant trajectories. These approaches are validat...
